Route 9 Reopened in Wellesley After Wire Down
High voltage line came down at Weston Road and Washington Street, which knocked out power to some houses and closed the road. Power restored, and the road is now open.

A downed wire was causing some troubles on Route 9, The MassDOT reported on Twitter that the road was closed in both directions--but that the road is now open.
Wellesley Police sent out a bulletin just after 9:40 a.m. explaining that a high voltage line came down on Route 9 at the Weston Road intersection, which knocked out power to the Fells area. While crews were working in the area, parts of Washington Street was closed to traffic.

According to WCVB, the power line snapped over the median, and then came down in the roadway. There were no injuries reported.
Police report that power has been restored, and the road has reopened.

The Police Department closed its bulleting saying, "Have a good remainder of Memorial Day 2013."
