3:20 a.m. - Detective D’Innocenzo was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street when he observed a gray Nissan and conducted a random query of the registration. The query showed that vehicle had been reported stolen. Detective D’Innocenzo attempted to catch up to the vehicle and observed that it turned onto Edmunds Road in an attempt to evade him. He followed the vehicle onto Edmunds Road and observed that it had changed directions and travelled back to Worcester Street. The vehicle then turned around at Kingsbury Street and Detective D’Innocenzo stopped the vehicle on Worcester Street near Oakland Street and spoke with the operator, 25-year-old Kearnna Long of Boston. The Amesbury Police Department had entered the vehicle as stolen on July 2, 2018. The vehicle had been rented from a car rental company and Long was listed as a secondary driver on the vehicle. The rental agreement had expired on June 26, 2018 and Long had not extended the agreement nor returned the vehicle. Detective D’Innocenzo learned that the primary renter had made numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact Long and request that she return the vehicle. The Amesbury Police had also attempted to contact Long and were unable to do so. Long was taken into custody, charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and was later released on personal recognizance.

The woman refused to provide that information and she received notification that two electronic $50 Amazon gift cards were purchased with the credit card she has on file with Amazon.
