Trial Of Wellesley Man Charged With KO'ing Man At Club Underway

Kevin Blackmore is charged with punching a man outside a Boston club unconscious.

BOSTON, MA — Opening arguments in the trial of Kevin Blackstone are expected to take place in Boston Municipal Court Tuesday.

The 41-year-old Wellesley man faces allegations that he beat up 29-year-old man in 2014. The Suffolk County District Attorney's office said at the time that Blackstone was working as a bouncer at the Place on Broad Street when a Salem, New Hampshire man became argumentative and was escorted out of the club.

Witnesses told police that Blackmore violently pushed open a door which struck the victim and then punched the man in the face. The punch knocked the victim unconscious and caused him to fall to the ground before he struck his head on the sidewalk.

The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of a serious head injury, according to the DA’s office.

Blackmore has pleaded not guilty to assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
