Waterstone at Wellesley Celebrates Sixth Anniversary

From Waterstone at Wellesley: Waterstone at Wellesley, a luxury independent and assisted living community managed by EPOCH Senior Living, is celebrating six years of operation this month. Opened in April 2012 as a joint venture by Waltham-based EPOCH Senior Living and Newton-based National Development, Waterstone at Wellesley includes 134 apartments for seniors 62 and older.

Waterstone at Wellesley features both independent and assisted living rental apartments, a fitness center, pool, theater, restaurant-style dining, designer kitchens, putting green, a riverfront walking trail and underground parking garage. The community is situated along the Charles River behind a CVS Pharmacy and a Newton-Wellesley Hospital ambulatory surgical center.

Waterstone at Wellesley was built on the former site of Grossman’s Hardware store, which sat vacant for 16 years before work began on the Waterstone project. Waterstone designers and developers incorporated the historical significance of the Grossman legacy into the design of the community, using the same iconic orange and white colors in certain portions of the design and utilizing brick from the store in the construction.
