Wellesley Annual Town Meeting Dissolved for 2013

Having voted on the Town Meeting warrant, Town Meeting dissolves until the fall Special Town Meeting.

 

Town Meeting is over, at least until the fall Special Town Meeting later this year. 

On Tuesday night, the members of Wellesley Town Meeting cast their votes on the remaining 11 articles of the Town Meeting Warrant. The warrant was completed on the sixth night of Town Meeting.

  • Article 27 - Cluster zoning for two- to four-unit clusters. No, failed to get 2/3 vote (98 in favor, 93 against). 
  • Article 28 - Natural Resources Protection zone regulations for 5+ unit areas. Approved by majority vote.
  • Article 29 - Make an amendment to the zoning map for the Wellesley Square Commercial District. Approved by majority vote.
  • Article 30 - Special permit for density in Wellesley Square Commercial District. Approved by majority vote.
  • Article 31 - Eliminate setback requirements for temporary lawn signs, for real estate, contractors or political messages.
  • Article 32 - Moratorium on Marijuana dispensaries declared until June 30, 2014. No zoning amendments or decisions made until that date. Approved by majority vote.
  • Article 33 - Set the civil fine for public consumption of Marijuana at $300. Approved by majority vote.
  • Article 34 - Amend retail sale of alcohol bylaws so Selectmen can set fees after a public hearing. Approved by majority vote.
  • Article 35 - Make amendments to the Permanent Building Committee's jurisdiction on certain projects. Approved by majority vote.
  • Article 45 - Appoint fire engineers. Approved by majority vote.

Articles 1, 9, 16, 21, and 36 through 44 on the warrant did not require action on their motions.
