Wellesley Downs Unbeaten Walpole For Girls' Lacrosse State Title
Wellesley never trailed in the final game en route to their state championship.

BOSTON, MA — The Wellesley girls' lacrosse team picked the perfect time to give the Walpole Rebels their first defeat of the season.
The Raiders topped previously unbeaten Walpole 7-5 at Boston University's Nickerson Field Saturday to win the MIAA Division 1 Championship.

Wellesley had control for most of the game, never trailing and putting the first goal of the game on the board nearly 17 minutes in, according to the Boston Globe.

The Raiders had a 3-1 lead at the half before going up three early in the second half. Walpole creeped to within one with seven minutes to play, but Wellesley solidified their title with two quick goals.
Wellesley finishes the season with a record of 23-3.
