Wellesley Police Close Schools: "Merely a Precaution"
Caution in travel also advised by the Wellesley Police Department.

School vacation week is coming to an end, however any activities that would have been on school facilities today have been canceled for the day.
While Law Enforcement, the Wellesley Police Department sent out an e-mail this morning officially closing school activities for the day.
"This is merely a precaution," the Police e-mail notes, as Wellesley is not currently on lockdown per the Governor's instructions. The message goes on to say that MBTA service has also been suspended in the area until further notice.

From the announcement:
The Wellesley Police Department has numerous police officers on the street protecting the town. With that in mind, please refrain from calling the Wellesley Police Department unless you have an emergency. We are not aware of road closures in other towns or communities due to the fluid nature of the manhunt. Travel has not been in banned in Wellesley, but clearly we are on the border of communities that have asked for people to stay indoors and off the roads. These communities include Newton, Watertown (no vehicle traffic at all) Belmont, the entire City of Boston, Waltham, and Cambridge.
