While on patrol on Washington Street near Oakland Street, Officer Lindelof performed a random query on a passing vehicle at about 11:30 p.m. on April 29. That vehicle came back as not having a valid inspection sticker.

After pulling the vehicle over, Lindelof asked the driver, identified as Elias DeSilva, 25, of Watertown for his license, which he reported he did not have. Police arrested and charged DaSilva with drving without a license and driving without an inspection sticker. He was booked, taken to the station, and later released on personal recognizance.

No Solicitors (Without a Permit)

At about 2 p.m., May 1, police received phone calls about solicitors selling magazine subscriptions in town without a permit or license--which violates a Wellesley bylaw. Officers went to Pilgrim Road and located on of these solicitors, a 19-year-old Gloversville, N.Y. man named Cody Blake.

He was informed of the town solicitation bylaw, and placed under arrest and charged under that bylaw. Bail was set at $150, plus $40 in court fees. Unable to make bail, he was taken to court in the morning.

Just before 3 p.m. on the same day, police received a report of another soliciting party, and located him near Garrison Road. Police advised a second Gloversville resident, 17-year-old Kyle Goebel of the town bylaw. He was also arrested and charged under the town's solicitation bylaw, and taken to the station. He was, however, bailed by his employer.

Both were likely in town because of the solicitation job, police say. However, they do not know why one worker was bailed, while the other was not.

The Big Party

Before Midnight on May 2, police received a noise complaint from Greenwood Road. While en route to the address, they received a second complaint from another neighbor. When they arrived, Officer Lindelof reports that they saw a number of vehicles parked on the street and heard yelling.

Several youths were seen coming out of a home as police arrived, who appeared to be under 21, and began fleeing the area when they saw police. Officers estimate about 100 people were outside of the house, and that beer cans were scattered across the lawn. They found the homeowner inside, and a large number of empty containers inside as well.

Police arrested and charged Dinsmore Road resident Conor Devlin, 20, with possession of alcohol while under the age of 21, and providing alcohol to other people under the age of 21.
