Roadside Snooze

At about 11:55 p.m. on April 17, Officer Joseph received a report of a vehicle off the road. Near the 650 block of Worcester Street, he located a Jeep which was stopped on the curb. As he came up, he noticed one person inside who appeared to be asleep at the wheel, and that the right front wheel seemed to have been burst from hitting the curb.

The officer then tapped on the window, and the driver began to stir and woke up. Her eyes appeared bloodshot, and when she spoke, her words were slurred and difficult to understand, and the smell of alcohol hung on her breath. She told the officer that she had been drinking.

After taking and failing three field sobriety tests, 41-year-old Buffy Gallant-Fata of Woodbine Road in Natick was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation. She was taken to the Police Station, booked, and later released on personal recognizance.
