Wellesley Police Pull Drunken Man From Washington Street
The man was stumbling along the road beside his car, police said.
WELLESLEY, MA — Wellesley police had to take a man into protective custody on Saturday after an officer spotted him walking along Washington Street and stumbling.
The officer was on traffic patrol and saw a Subaru stopped on the side of Washington Street near Walnut Street and the driver, leaning against the back of the car, according to police. The driver's side door was still open, police said.
According to the police report, the man was unsteady on his feet, looked confused and indicated that he fell on the side of the road. Police said the man smelled like alcohol. The man was taken into protective custody and taken to the hospital for evaluation.
