Rosemary and Alan Fitzpatrick, beloved residents at the Elizabeth Seton Residence, recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a touching vow renewal ceremony. Amidst colorful floral arrangements, a beautifully decorated cake and live entertainment, the couple, who met in high school, renewed their marriage vows in front of family, residents, and staff members.

Lori Ferrante, Administrator at the Elizabeth Seton Residence, noted that the vow renewal ceremony was special for all in attendance. “We were honored to be part of the 65th wedding anniversary celebration for Rosemary and Alan,” said Ferrante. “Residents and staff dressed for the occasion, joining family members for this emotional and joyous event. Just imagine 65 years of love!”

Rosemary and Alan met in high school and married when Rosemary was 18 and Alan was 20. By the time Rosemary was 25, she was the proud mother of five children! The couple relocated to MA in 2014, moving into the Elizabeth Seton Residence in June 2020 at the height of the pandemic. Alan was an advertising executive, who had worked at one time for Pfizer, a fact he proudly shared with the other residents when he and Rosemary received their Pfizer vaccines at the Elizabeth Seton Residence.

The vow renewal ceremony, attended by a small group of family members in addition to residents and staff members, followed a festive luncheon for invited guests. The afternoon concluded with all residents joining the guests for live entertainment with singer Tom Madden.

To honor the skilled nursing facility, the couple’s granddaughter, Laura Cannistraro, is running the Boston Marathon to raise money for the Elizabeth Seton Residence. The nonprofit Residence awarded her the charity bib they received from the Town of Wellesley. Laura is running as a tribute to Alan and Rosemary as well as in gratitude to the caring staff at Elizabeth Seton.
