Wellesley Wonderful Weekend Continues Sunday

Bad weather during the initial weekend moved the parade and fireworks to this Sunday.

WELLESLEY, MA — Maybe an argument can be made that Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend is so nice that they had to give it a second weekend. Actually, it's the rain that caused the annual town celebration to move their parade and fireworks to a new day, which is coming up soon.

The event will conclude June 3. The annual veterans' parade will start at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the Picnic in the Park, live music, and firworks.

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

2018 Theme: 100th Anniversary of the End of World War I

  • The parade starts at the intersection of Route 16 (Washington Street) and Route 9 and continues west along Route 16 to Wellesley Square. The reviewing stand is in Wellesley Square.

5 p.m. to Dusk

Picnic in the Park at Hunnewell Field

  • Come enjoy food*, drinks*, rides for kids*, crafts, games, pony rides, and other fun
  • Food by Charles River Rotary, Captain Mardens, and others

6 p.m. to Dusk

Concert for Wellesley at Hunnewell Field

Dusk (around 9 p.m.)

Fireworks — the Biggest Ever! at Hunnewell Field
