Wellesley's Week Ahead: Fore!, A Lack of Silence, Fresh FroYo and More

Five things for the week of July 29, 2013 in Needham and Wellesley.

1. There could be some showers today--mostly before 11 a.m., but tapering off in the early afternoon. The National Weather Service estimates a 30 percent chance of showers today, and by the evening, it should be mostly clear. Temperature range for today is from 84ºF to 60ºF.

2. The Wellesley Chamber of Commerce is hosting their golf open today. They're kicking things off at 11 a.m. at the Wellesley Country Club. A portion of the proceeds to benefit Wellesley Scholarship Foundation, registration ran you $250/$1000.

3. Want a free cup of FroYo? Well, on Wednesday, Needham's Orange Leaf is holding a grand opening. They are right across the street from the High School, and they are giving away a free cup to anyone who visits between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

4. Get Plugged In, and help a good cause. To Write Love on Her Arms, a non-profit movement aimed at helping those dealing with addiction, depression, self-harm or suicide. Plugged In is holding a benefit concert for that cause Friday night, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 for students, $10.00 for seniors, and $15.00 for adults.

5. This weekend, Linden Street's FUNtastic Saturdays return sand art and magic. Their activities are aimed at kids 4 to 8 years old, although nothing is stopping you parents from joining in the fun. It's happening in Linden Square, Wellesley, at 1 p.m.
