Man Found Dead In Southborough Was Silver Alert Subject From Worcester County: Police

The man was found dead Monday night near an abandoned vehicle, Southborough police said.

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA — A man found dead late Monday morning in Southborough was the subject of a recent Silver Alert out of Worcester County, police said.

Southborough police went to check out a suspicious car just before noon Monday along Valley Road north of Route 9. They identified the car's registration as belonging to a man who was the subject of a Silver Alert out of Warren.

Nearby the car, police found a man dead. Southborough police did not immediately identify the person, and said the incident is being investigated as an unattended death.

On Sept. 14, Warren police issued a Silver Alert for an 82-year-old Monson resident, who police said had a cognitive impairment. He told acquaintances he was heading "east" but police did not know specifically know his destination.
