New 'Shop Westborough' Directory Part Of Town's COVID-19 Recovery
The town is seeking local businesses to add to the directory to use for future promotions.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Westborough Economic Development Committee is seeking local businesses to add to a town directory as part of a recovery plan in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Westborough was one of 125 communities across the state that received a Mass Downtown Initiative grant last year to "assess impacts from COVID-19 and develop actionable, project based recovery plans." The town used the grant to create a plan to help businesses recover.
One recommendation that came out of the plan was creating a "Shop Westborough" directory. The town may use the directory to create brochures to distributed at local hotels, for example.

"The aim is to create a tool that will help Westborough's many residents and visitors that want to shop local. The directory will provide functionality for users to find your business by keyword search, distance, industry/sector, and status as a minority-owned, women-owned, or veteran-owned business," the EDC said of the project.
Local businesses interested in joining the directory can enter their information on this EDC form.
