Select Board To Finalize Westborough Chief Todd Minardi's Contract
The Westborough Select Board voted in September to hire Todd Minardi as police chief, but it'll be cemented with a new contract this week.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Westborough Select Board will meet Thursday to finalize the contract for new police Chief Todd Minardi after offering him the job in September.
Minardi became the interim chief in July after former chief Jeff Lourie took over as leader of the Falmouth Police Department. The select board voted on Sept. 12 to hire Minardi without a formal search process.
According to a Select Board agenda for Thursday, the sole open session vote will be to approve Minardi's contract. The board will meet in closed session immediately before the vote to discuss Minardi's contract.

After an open session vote on the chief's contract, the board will go back into closed session to continue contract negotiations with Town Manager Kristi Williams, and to discuss the purchase of 1500 Union St. for a new community and senior center.
Minardi began his career as a Westborough police officer in 1994, and was a deputy chief before taking over as chief.
