Sunday's HS Sports Schedule Shapes Up

The Westborough High School varsity soccer teams' Sectionals quarterfinals opponents have been set, thanks to first-round games on Friday.

Both games are Sunday at Westborough High.

At noon, the Rangers boys will host South, which defeated visiting Quabbin, 3-0, on Friday, according to the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Soccer Central Division 1 bracket website.

The South-Westborough winner advances to the semi-finals. South is seeded eighth. Quabbin is seeded ninth. Westborough is seeded first.

At 2 p.m., the Rangers girls will host Tantasqua, which defeated visiting Marlborough, 2-1, in overtime on Friday, according to the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Central Division 1 bracket website.

The Tantasqua-Westborough winner advances to the semifinals against the winner of Monday night's Groton-Dunstable and Wachusett quarterfinal. Tantasqua is seeded eighth. Marlborough is seeded ninth. Westborough is seeded first.

Also on Sunday, the WHS varsity volleyball team hosts Milton at 1 p.m. in a 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Volleyball Central Division 2 first round game.

The winner advances to the semifinals against the winner of Saturday night's Tantasqua and St. Peter-Marian quarterfinal.

Westborough is seeded second in the tournament. Milton is seeded 15th.
