Town Admin Jim Malloy Leaves Westborough For Lexington

Jim Malloy leaves Westborough after nine years.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—After nine years on the job as Westborough's town manager, Jim Malloy is headed for Lexington to serve in the same capacity.

Malloy's last day in Westborough is sometime in October, though an exact date has not been set yet.

"Lexington is a great community and a progressive career move for what I hope to be my final community," Malloy told Patch.

Malloy said he hopes to create the same camaraderie that was developed in Westborough, where "we function together as a great team. It usually takes time to build the kind of camaraderie was have here."

The Westborough Board of Selectmen discusses further the next steps to finding a replacement for Malloy, who does not anticipate resigning before Sept. 5. The Board of Selectmen meets next on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall. The agenda includes a discussion on the position of the town manager.
