Earl Storey was born and raised in Westborough and truly loves this Town. It is evident in how involved he is and how hard he works to keep this town beautiful. If you need to know the history behind something, who did it, how it was done, Earl is the guy who knows everything! He is always willing to educate you or help you with whatever you need, always displaying his witty humor and honest personality. Earl has worked for the DPW for many years taking care of our Parks, while also volunteering as the Chair of the Recreation Commission. He can often be seen on his mower at the Lake Chauncy soccer fields, working tirelessly and diligently over the years to turn that land into a beautiful space for passive and active recreation. Another gem in our community that Earl is behind is the Westborough Golf Club where he has put in countless hours to improve the buildings and grounds for the benefit of the community.
When you look around the Town, it is a pretty safe bet that Earl Storey was somehow involved in figuring out how to use that space or improve it. Some, but not all examples, are Bay State Commons, Veterans' Freedom Park, the Pickle Ball Court, Upper and Lower Haskell Fields, Greg’s Field, the State Hospital property, and the athletic fields at the High School. Westborough is a better and more beautiful community because of Earl and, as such, he is a deserving recipient of the Town of Westborough Employee Excellence Award.
