New Place For Your Pup To Play In Westborough
The town's first official dog park welcomes pets of all sizes.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough’s first official dog park is now up and running. The town officially announced its opening on Tuesday.
The park is located on Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Way, off of Lyman Street, southeast of the soccer and cricket fields. It will be open from dawn to dusk.
The four-legged-friendly hangout has a large and small dog area separated by a fence, along with seating throughout the park, according to Jenn Kirkland, Westborough’s Recreation Director.

Patch first reported that the dog park was on track to open last fall after getting approval from the town’s planning and building departments. But construction did not officially begin until December 2024, according to Kirkland.
She said after the department was awarded a design grant from the Stanton Foundation via ARPA funds in 2023, the group went out to bid for the park in early 2024. But when bids came in a bit higher than anticipated, they made some changes and were more successful last fall.

If you’re planning to stop by the park, the department asks that all dogs be leashed when entering and exiting. Owners must also stay in the park with their dog and take care of their pet’s waste.
