Departing Stony Brook Principal Finalist For Job in Framingham

Outgoing Stony Brook School principal Peter Cohen has been announced as one of two finalists for Cameron Middle School in Framingham.

 

Stony Brook principal Peter Cohen is leaving Westford, but it appears that he could have a new job lined up very soon.

Framingham Patch reports that he will answer the parents' questions as a finalist for principal at Cameron Middle School in Framingham.

The other candidate, Michelle Melick, taught at another middle school in Framinham for nine years.

Either Cohen or Melick will fill the shoes of Judith Kelley, who unexpectedly announced she was leaving the school after 10 years, one of four principals to announce they'd be leaving the district in the past year alone.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Cameron Middle School had 560 students as of the 2012-'13 school year, with 43.1 full time equivalent teacher positions.

As a comparison, during that same time frame Stony Brook had 670 students enrolled with 51.2 full time equivalent teacher positions.
