Discolored Water in Westford Because of Fire

The use of hydrants to fight a fire caused the water to become discolored Tuesday.

WESTFORD, MA - The use of hydrants to fight a fire on Main Street Tuesday morning caused the water in Westford to become more discolored than usual, town officials reported.

The town reported running the water will not clear it but the system is in the process of being flushed.

"As noted in the previous announcement - we want to assure our customers that the water is safe, but will remain discolored until we have completed the flushing," the announcement read.
