Firefighters Battle Massive Brush Fire In Westford

WESTFORD, MA — Heavy wind gusts helped spread a massive brush fire in Westford Monday morning.

Fire crews are battling the fire in a wooded area near River Road.

The National Weather Service says that a dry airmass combined with gusty winds resulted in the perfect storm to spread the brush fires.

According to firefighters, there are no structures in danger of being damaged in the fire.

There have been no reported injuries.

Mutual aid companies are on their way to help Westford firefighters and an investigation into the cause has been launched.
