Fires on Kestrel Lane, 495; Odors on Kirsi Circle

Sunday, May 12

  • 4:25 p.m. - An odor was investigated on Kirsi Circle
  • 10:41 p.m. - There was a box alarm at Panera in Cornerstone Square, but it turned out to be false.

Monday, May 13

  • 7:46 a.m. - Paramedics responded to a medical emergency at Westford Academy. Injured parties were transported to Lowell General Hospital.
  • 11:56 a.m. - There was a medical emergency north of Exit 32 on 495 Northbound, parties were transported to Lowell General Hospital.

  • 9:56 a.m. - Firefighters extinguished a brush fire off 495 Northbound. Additional information was not immediately available.
  • 8:22 p.m. - An appliance fire was investigated on Kestrel Lane. Additional information was not immediately available.

Friday, May 17

  • 4:27 p.m. - Firefighters dealt with a Code 736 malfunction (Carbon Monoxide) on Providence Road.

  • 1:12 a.m. - Westford firefighters aided cleanup efforts near the Lowell Connector following a hazmat situation that closed down the road for several hours. Additional information was not immediately available.
  • 4:45 p.m. - Westford firefighters and Billerica firefighters provided assistance in a District 6 incident on Westford Street in Lowell.
  • 9:40 p.m. - No transport was required following a medical emergency at the Abbot School.

UPDATES

May 13 - Engine 3 responded to a trouble alarm at the Blanchard Waste Treatment Plant

May 16 - Engine 1 and Medic 10 went to the 495 brush fire for a reported brush fire, which was approximately 10' by 20'.

May 16 - During the Kestrel Lane call, it was determined the flame was caused by burnt food.

May 18 - The call in Chelmsford was determined to be a Tier 3 response, and the crew on the scene stablized a gasoline tanker on its side that had fuel leaking from a dome cover.

The crew stabilized the vehicle and set up damming and diking of the product, as well as preventing further ground contamination.
