Hydrant Flushing Begins Monday in Westford
The periodic maintenance helps maintain water quality and adequate flow through the town's water system.

WESTFORD, MA - The Westford Water Department will begin flushing the town's fire hydrants on Monday, March 14.
The flushing will begin in the Forge area and continue to the Graniteville area, town center and southern sections of Westford.
The department will flush the hydrants between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. and expects to finish the project by June 30, though weather conditions and length of flushing times could affect the schedule. Schedule updates will be provided on the Westford Water Department website.

Hydrant flushing is conducted periodically to maintain water quality and adequate flow through the system.
Resident might notice minor street flooding, periods of low pressure and/or periods of interrupted service. Additionally, discolored water is possible. If you see discoloration, simply run the cold water for five to 10 minutes to clear the line and the discoloration.
