WESTFORD, MA — Town officials have just raised the outdoor water use restrictions to a stage two alert, because of prolonged dry weather and increased water demand. If you're found in violation you could face a fine of up to $100.
"Westford Water Department Stage II Mandatory Outdoor Water Use Restrictions are effective immediately and until further notice," town officials announced on June 19.
In May the town asked residents to voluntarily curb outdoor water use beginning May 1 in an effort to keep up with demand. This restriction builds on that previous one.
