Nabnasset Lake In Westford To Be Closed
The body of water that is Nabnasset is will be closed to be treated for algae Aug. 10.

WESTFORD, MA — Google maps calls it a pond, town folks call it a lake but no matter what you call it, the body of water that is Nabnasset is will be closed Aug. 10.
Swimmers, fishing, boating or using the water for any purpose that day will not be permitted, as crews treat the water to mitigate the growth of nuisance aquatic vegetation and algae blooms.
Officials advise not to even let your pets drink for the water. The lake shoreline will be posted with printed signs warning of these restrictions.
The lake will be closed until August 11 at 8 a.m., with use of the water to be prohibited until that point.

Treatment will be done by SOLitude Lake Management of Shrewsbury. The work is being done in conjunction with a license from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. Information on the herbicide, also known as "Reward" can be found at www.syngentalprofessionalproducts.com
