• School Committee continues review of proposed FY27 budget (westfordcat.org) — Westford Public Schools are weighing a proposed $71.5 million FY27 budget that slightly increases spending while relying more on revolving funds and fees to balance the books. Officials say the needed cuts are smaller than in the post-override years, but note growing dependence on grants and user fees as salaries continue to dominate expenses. Key votes and joint meetings run through March’s Town Meeting.
   

• One injured, one charged, in 3-car crash in Westford (westfordcat.org) — A three-car crash on Depot Street in Westford Thursday afternoon sent one person to the hospital and led to charges against another driver, according to local police and fire officials. Traffic was temporarily detoured while emergency crews responded and a damaged road sign was cleared, and the cause of the collision remains under active police investigation.
   

• MIE Student Ben Schaffer Wins CLACLS Undergraduate Community Project Award (umass.edu) — A UMass Amherst engineering student from Westford, Ben Schaffer, has earned a $500 first-place CLACLS Undergraduate Community Project Award for his work with Engineers Without Borders. His team is helping a Holyoke urban farm design a biogas-heating system and repair greenhouses, aiming to cut fossil-fuel use, lower costs, and boost year-round crop yields for a low-income community.
