Sassafras Road Man Arrested For Alleged Assault and Battery

The following information was supplied by the Westford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

June 24, 5:15 p.m. – Several teenagers were reported trespassing and littering at Merrill’s Quarry behind Vineyard Road.

The teenagers were discovered on the dirt road leading to the property, which had several no trespassing signs.

At this point, the officer asked the teenagers to head back up to where they left their trash, which they agreed to, but the officer immediately recognized the odor of marijuana among the teenagers, discovering a baggie of approximately .55 oz. of the drug, which the teenagers confirmed.

After the teenagers removed the trash, they were issued a ticket for the marijuana, which was confiscated, and were given a notice to give to their parents, who were notified of the incident.

Sept. 17, 9:16 p.m. - Yaritza Moreno, 21, of 671 Moody St. #2 in Waltham was arrested for alleged failure to appear upon personal recognizance, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, and number plate violations.

Sept. 18, 8:47 a.m. - Alireza Hamedany, 47, 9 Sassafras Rd. was arrested for alleged domestic assault and battery. 

Sept. 18, 1:06 p.m. - Janice Roman, 31, of 9 Johnson Rd. in Sterling was arrested on an unspecified outstanding warrant.
