Sonus Makes Amendment to Stop Unwanted Outside Takeovers

The Boston Business Journal reports that this week Westford’s Sonus Networks is extending an agreement that will protect the company from unsolicited takeovers.

Sonus, which is located on Technology Park Drive, said in a statement that its board of directors amended the company’s rights agreement to prevent unwanted outside takeovers, and that the amendment was not in response to any pending acquisitions of the company.

At this time last year, Sonus acquired California-based Network Equipment Technologies for $41.3 million.
