Westford To Mark 19th Anniversary Of 9/11
The town will host the annual commemoration to honor the men, women and children that lost their lives in the attacks.

WESTFORD, MA — Westford will host a remembrance event commemorating the 19th anniversary of the attacks Sept. 11.
The town will host the annual commemoration to honor the 2,977 men, women and children that lost their lives in the attacks at the World Trade Center site, the Pentagon and aboard Flight 93.
The ceremony will take place at 9:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11 at the 9/11 memorial in the Public Safety Courtyard on the right side of the Town Hall, located at 55 Main St.

According to the veteran's Veterans Service Officer those in attendance must wear face coverings over their mouth and their nose and keep at least 6 feet from others.

James Edward Hayden, 47, lived in Westford. He was a passenger on United Flight 175, which took off from Boston and hit the south tower of the World Trader Center. He was the chief financial officer of Netegrity in Waltham. Hayden was survived by his wife, Gail, and their two children.
Hayden was on United Airlines Flight 175, from Boston to Los Angeles. It was the second hijacked plane to strike the World Trade Center, plowing into the south tower. Two pilots, seven flight attendants and 56 passengers were on board.
Susan MacKay, 44, of Westford, was an employee of TJX Cos. She was aboard American Airlines Flight 11, from Boston to Los Angeles, when it crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center with 86 people on board.
