Westford Resident Olivia Hunker Awarded Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Salisbury Prize for 2020

WESTFORD, MA — Olivia Hunker of Westford, a senior majoring in biochemistry, has been awarded the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Salisbury Prize for academic excellence.

A total of 24 undergraduate students-out of a class of more than 1,000-were nominated by WPI faculty to receive this award.

The Salisbury Prize was established in 1871 by Stephen Salisbury, 19th century businessman and philanthropist and one of the founders of WPI. This award recognizes academic excellence in courses and in all three of the required projects.

Each recipient was nominated by their department or program (in some cases, by more than one). Every recipient has an outstanding academic record, and each has made significant contributions to WPI beyond their classes and projects.
