Man Dies In Crash With Tractor-Trailer On I-90 In Weston

The car was clipped under the back right side of the trailer for some time before it broke free.

WESTON, MA — A man is dead after an early morning crash on I-90 in Weston on Monday. The man was identified only as a 30-year-old from Ashland.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. at Exit 123 on the turnpike. A car crashed with a tractor-trailer on the exit, according to State Police. While on the ramp the car straddled both lanes of the ramp and a tractor-trailer was driving in the same direction in left lane of the exit, according to the preliminary investigation.

According to State Police, the car hit the right rear of the trailer with its driver's side front, partially under riding the trailer. The tractor-trailer and the car kept driving a short distance together before the car broke free of the trailer, according to police. The truck stopped in the left lane and the car stopped in the right lane just beyond it.

The man in the car was rushed to Newton-Wellesley Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured. The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as a 39-year-old man from Frankfort, N.Y.

The crash is under investigation.
