Should There Be A Full Time Animal Control Officer In Weston?

The police chief made a case to up the part-time position to full-time.

WESTON, MA—Citing making a significant impact and an increasing demand, Police Chief Michael Goulding reportedly requested to the Weston Board of Selectmen that the animal control officer position become full-time.

Rachel Hoffman currently serves in the position as part-time, and the change to full-time would mean doubling her salary, reports Wicked Local Weston.

Goulding argued that the demand for the animal control officer has increased due to situations such as increased dog walkers on town land and trails, in addition to growing demands in other areas, such as complaints and inspections.
