A Boston bar is now facing a wrongful death lawsuit after a student drowned in Boston Harbor last winter.
Eric Munsell, who was a student at Boston University at the time, was forced to leave the Market Bar and Lounge in February of 2014 because security deemed him to be too drunk, according to The Boston Globe’s report on the wrongful death lawsuit.

Munsell, 24, was not allowed to grab his coat, nor allowed to alert his friends that he had been told to leave. Upon leaving the bar, Munsell lost his life after stumbling into the frigid harbor waters.
According to the lawsuit, not one bar employee made any attempt to help Munsell avoid an unsafe predicament, despite his impaired condition.

Market Bar says the city’s licensing board found no violations for failing to assist Munsell.
