Boston Mayor Weighs In On Public School Closures, One Direction, 'The Godfather' Trilogy and More

On Wednesday Boston Mayor Martin Walsh hosted a Twitter chat with the hashtag #ASKMJW to answer the community’s questions and tweets of both serious and silly fare flowed in.
One user voiced concern about the mayor’s plan to close public schools and his willingness to fund the potential Boston 2024 Olympics.:

To which Marty Walsh responded:

Someone suggested parking fees as a way to increase city revenue and the mayor showed interest in the idea:
And amid continued Boston 2024 backlash, which was the subject of most of the tweets, was comic relief provided by a couple of participants.
This guy wanted to know where Mayor Walsh stands on the common argument regarding “The Godfather” trilogy:
And as if the Boston boss making the right call on that debate wasn’t enough, he caught the nation’s eye with his response to the following question:
Zayn Malik, then-member of boy band One Direction, announced he was leaving the group that day. And when Mayor Walsh was asked about it he swiftly took the bait:
That’s one way to win the vote from young people. And not before various Greater Boston media outlets capitalized on the tweet one brave user lowered us back to solid ground:
