The Massachusetts Department of Transportation on Monday will resume closures of the ramp from Storrow Drive eastbound to the Fenway area via the Bowker Overpass, as well as a single-lane closure from the ramp on Storrow westbound to Fenway via the Bowker Overpass.

MassDOT plans to implement the closures between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday this week. On Friday, Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 20, the left travel lanes in both directions on the Bowker Overpass will be closed to prepare work for an upcoming construction stage, MassDOT said.

The closures, MassDOT said, are meant to allow for demolition and removal of portions of the existing bridge deck and installation of temporary road plates.

Moreover, lane closures on Commonwealth Avenue and Beacon Street will be implemented on an “as-needed” basis to facilitate the staging of equipment for demolition and removal of the bridge deck; the restrictions will follow the same time frame as the ramp closures, MassDOT said.
