Half a Kilo of Coke, Heroin Found in Car of Suspect, Who Has Surgically Enhanced Fingerprints

Boston Police executed a search warrant of a hidden compartment in a vehicle finding 500 grams of cocaine, and 50 grams of heroin, after arresting a multiple-aliased suspect in West Roxbury.

All of the suspect's righthand fingertips were either burned or digitally-enhanced, according to a Boston Police report.

The suspect was booked as Omar Nieves, of 525 Essex St. #29, Lawrence, Mass., on Jan. 30 around 3:04 p.m. But he was found in possession of a Puerto Rican driver's license with the name of Jose Vizany Pabon, according to a Boston Police report. The suspect was also found with a Massachusetts driver's license on file with a last name of Rodriguez, as well as an FBI number indicating his true identity as Julio Enrique Tejeda-Andujar. The original report led to the discovery of an immigration detainer notice of action for the suspect.

A background check in the Boston Police Imaging System verified the suspect as Nieves, which was proven to be an alias. As an alias with the name of Omar Nieves, the suspect was wanted on three outstanding warrants out of Salem District Court for possession of a class B drug with the intent to distribute, furnishing a false name to police officers, and for trafficking cocaine. A fourth warrant out of Revere District Court was for false application of a driver's license.

During the investigation Boston Police requested the assistance of FBI's Fugitive Unit to learn the true identity of the suspect.

Police were led to the suspect by members of a citywide Boston Police Drug Control Unit surveillingthe Hess Gas Station in West Roxbury at 5315 Washington St., on Jan. 30. The suspect was seen talking to a woman at her vehicle's window a few gas pumps away from his. An undercover officer approached the suspect's vehicle and identified himself as a Boston Police officer. 

The suspect provided the Puerto Rican driver's license at first and then another form of ID with a different name.

At District E-5 in West Roxbury it was learned he had digitally-enhanced fingerprints or had burned them making it very difficult to ascertain his identity, according to a Boston Police report. 

The suspect's vehicle was seized and a search warrant was attained out of Roxbury District Court. The search of vehicle was videotaped, and during the search a "mechanical hide" was found in the vehicle behind the rear passenger seat. An officer used a magnet from inside a breathmint case that unlocked the mechanical hide. Inside the hide was a brown paper bag with two vacuum-sealed bags in green plastic wrapping. There were four plastic bags containing approximately 125 grams of cocaine each, totaling 500 grams. A smaller package was found with 55 grams of heroin. The plastic wrappings were all seized for fingerprints. The drugs all tested positive for heroin and cocaine, according to a Boston Police report.

A warrant was being sought against the suspect for trafficking more than 200 grams of a class B drug, and trafficking 28 to 99 grams of a Class A drug.
