Harpoon's New Beer Made With Water From Charles River
Bostonians will soon be able to enjoy that infamous dirty water in a glass of beer!

Bostonians will soon be able to enjoy that infamous dirty water in a glass of beer, but filtered of course.
Boston’s Harpoon Brewery has announced plans to craft a new beer made with water from the Charles River.
Desalitech, a Newton-based company, recently took 400 gallons of Charles River water and ran it through a rigorous filtration process. That water was then used to create 18 kegs worth of “Charles River Pale Ale.”

The new brew will not be unveiled until October and it will be served at the Harpoon Beer Hall.
“We’ve done a lot of experimentation with beer ingredients over the years, different spices, herbs, unusual hop varieties, but we’ve never really experimented with different water sources so this is a first for us and we’re thrilled about it,” Harpoon president Charlie Storey told WBZ-TV.
