West Roxbury Main Streets posted about the pilot program on its Facebook page. Normally, at least 50 percent of residents on a road need to support having resident permit parking, and "the response from neighbors on the bottom stretch of Manthorne has been overwhelming in favor" to help prevent parking issue near the Centre Street intersection.
"Resident Permit Parking Only" signs will be posted as in effect from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday through Saturday. The signs will run from #43 and #40 down to the last residential homes before Centre Street.

The stretch of Manthorne that abuts Centre Street businesses will be marked as "Visitor Parking" to help the business community on Centre Street, who were also included in discussions of implementing the pilot program. The Boston Transportation and and Police departments will enforce the regulations.
For residents, it's important to get your resident permit parking stickers by visiting the city's link to obtain a Resident Sticker for your vehicle, otherwise you may get ticketed.
City representatives will meet with residents after the three-month period to assess how the program is working and decide if it should be permanently implemented.
