US Attorney Rachel Rollins and Paul Jackson Visit German Centre

US Attorney Rollins and Paul Jackson kicked off the first BBQ since the pandemic. Residents were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet with the distinguished and much-admired US Attorney.

Amidst an animated Q & A session, US Attorney Rollins (or Rachel as she asked residents to call her) described the responsibilities of her position as well as the issues facing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Genevieve MacLellan, President of the Board of Trustees, Deutsches Altenheim, Inc. and Austin Azeta, Director of Nursing, gave Ms. Rollins a warm welcome on behalf of the residents and staff members. Immediately following the discussion, the US Attorney and Paul Jackson kicked off a summer cook-out, complete with festive July 4th decorations and live entertainment. US Attorney Rollins promised to come back in the fall and meet with employees throughout the entire Deutsches Altenheim campus.

Established in 1914, Deutsches Altenheim was originally designed to serve as a retirement residence for elderly German immigrants. As Deutsches Altenheim expanded and flourished, the organization became a centerpiece in the Greater Boston community. Today the nonprofit, which is comprised of German Centre skilling nursing, Edelweiss Village assisted living, Schrafft Pavilion Memory Support Neighborhood and Senior Place Adult Day Health, enjoys a consistent 5-Star rating. The organization continues to offer superior care in a trusting and experienced environment. Its campus in West Roxbury provides long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, memory care, assisted living, and adult day health services to residents and clients of all ethnic, national, and religious backgrounds.
