Dedham Square Artist Guild to Celebrate Third Birthday Next Month

October will be a celebratory month for the Dedham Square Artist Guild.

On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Guild will celebrate its third birthday from 6-8 p.m. with a special event that will feature a raffle with photographs, paintings and other art donated by artist members, as well as a reception, music and more.

“Three years has flown by and it has been an artistic whirlwind,” said Kerry Hawkins, co-founder of the Dedham Square Artist Guild. “ I love that the Guild is part of the new burgeoning art scene in Dedham, and an important part of Dedham Square. Seeing our patrons faces light up when they come into the Guild and want to talk about art and community has made it all worth it.”

Winners of the raffle will be drawn at 8 p.m. the night of the event. In addition to raffling off 10 works of art by Guild Members, there will be one secret raffle item. Entries for this secret item are free, but entries can only be made during the event.

All area residents are invited to attend; Guild member Lisa WB Walker of Westwood, who is the featured artist of the month, will showcase her ceramics collection titled “By the Ocean.”
