New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center Completed on Town Line
The facility is located partially in Westwood and partially in Dedham.
The newly-constructed New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center on the Dedham/Westwood town line is completed and is seeing limited patients. It will officially open for business later this month.
New England Baptist is working with Shield’s Health Care Group in this venture.
The 66,000 square foot complex – which includes a 33,000 square foot state-of-the-art ambulatory care center with eight operating rooms – is located at 40 Allied Drive (Dedham) off the East Street rotary.

“We wanted to bring what we do in Boston out to the local communities,” said Lisa Rand with New England Baptist Hospital. “The same services and expertise that they would expect from The Baptist as well as Shields at our other locations in Boston will be here locally.”
Rand said the Dedham/Westwood location will have the same doctors rotating through the facility as those who practice at the Boston location. She said patients will also enjoy the convenience of close-to-home outpatient surgery and high-quality occupational therapy by Baptist practitioners.

To meet the full range of patients’ orthopedic needs, the outpatient care center will include numerous services including:
- Access to specialty physicians including orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, anesthesiologists and more
- Outpatient orthopedic surgery in a 33,000 square foot state-of-the-art ambulatory care center with eight operating rooms
- Rehabilitation services including physical, occupational and hand therapy
- Pain management for individuals with back and joint pain
- Spine center dedicated specifically to non-surgical treatments for patients with back pain
- Occupational medicine to manage and treat workplace injuries
- Wellness and integrative medicine including acupuncture, massage and muscular manipulations
- Imaging services provided by Shields Health Care Group
Westwood Patch recently toured the facility which includes 25 patient bays (designed to calm, sooth, and incorporate large amounts of natural light), plus physician offices and an impressive x-ray suite.
“It was designed to be a one-stop shop for all your orthopedic needs in one place. It’s designed to make it very easy and convenient for patients,” Rand said, noting that more and more cases are being treated on an out-patient basis and the facility has room for future growth.
