Community Rallies For Fallen Randolph Police Officer Michael Beal

A GoFundMe has been organized for the family of Officer Michael Beal who was killed in a car crash over the weekend.

According to a GoFundMe,​ Beal was close to retirement and a kind soul whose children were his world. Beal was on his way to pick up his wife Carol for their youngest child Thierry's graduation day when he was involved in the fatal crash.

RANDOLPH, MA — Randolph Police Officer Michael Beal was killed in a car crash over the weekend.

The 61-year-old was a 35-year veteran of the force, leaving behind eight children, five grandchildren, and a wife of 36 years.

According to police, the crash happened just after 6 a.m. Saturday near exit 36 on Route 3 by Derby Street. Randolph Chief of Police Anthony Marag said Beal died from injuries sustained in the crash, which involved another vehicle.

"He was an amazing person and friend to all within this department. This amazing family man leaves behind a wife and eight children," Marag said in a statement over the weekend. "Please keep his family, friends, and members of the Randolph Police Department in your thoughts and prayers."

Massachusetts State Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash with the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office. The status of the other driver is unknown.

He was a devoted husband, caring family man, loyal friend and courageous police officer who devoted his professional life to serving the Town of Randolph for over 35 years," the GoFundMe says. "Whenever a member of the police department was in need, Mike was one of the first to give...whatever he could. I ask everyone reading this to donate "whatever you can" for a man that did the same."

All money donated to the GoFundMe will go directly to the Beal family and will be used for funeral services and other expenses.
