WEYMOUTH, MA — An 11-year-old from Weymouth was devastated after a souvenir shirt he purchased from a New Kids On the Block concert at Fenway Park over the weekend was ripped from his hands.

Getting to see NKOTB was a much bigger deal to 11-year-old Connor Stuart than most people, as NBC10 reported that his father used to play him songs by the band before he died.

After finding out about the incident Sunday night, NKOTB member Donnie Wahlberg sent Stuart a personalized video message.

“I heard about what happened. I’m very sorry,” the singer-songwriter said in the video, shared with NBC10 Boston. “But I also want to let you know that me and the guys are putting a special care package together for you.”

The message came after Stuart's sister Caitlin took to social media, posting that a woman ripped Stuart's shirt from his hands as they were walking to an MBTA station after the concert, NBC10 reported.
