Weymouth Resident Honored for Personal Care Work
Caroline Craig was one of five recipients of the Paul Kahn Award for Personal Care Assistant Service.

A Weymouth resident was recently honored by the Patrick-Murray Administration for her work with as the Personal Care Assistant for a Hingham resident.
Caroline Craig was one of five recipients of the third annual Paul Kahn Award for PCA Service in a ceremony at the State House.
Craig’s employer Richard Gerraughty, who is quadriplegic, nominated her for the award.

“Caroline never takes a day off, and even comes to work sick rather than leave me without assistance,” said Gerraughty in a press release.
Craig, who has worked as a PCA for more than three decades, has sought additional training to better care for Gerraughty.

The award is sponsored by Massachusetts PCA Quality Home Care Workforce Council, 1199SEIU Health Care Workers East, and Rewarding Work Resources.
“This award acknowledges the vital role that PCAs play in assisting more than 20,000 Massachusetts residents with tasks of everyday living. PCAs make it possible for people to live independently, with varying amounts of assistance,” said Elenore Parker, president of Rewarding Work Resources and administrator of the self-directed Massachusetts PCA Directory through a press release. “PCAs make a huge difference in the quality of life for so many.
