Details Released On National Drug Takeback Day In Wilmington
The upcoming event provides the public with a chance to easily dispose of expired and unused medications.
WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Police Department is participating in National Drug Takeback Day.
The event is Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wilmington Public Safety Building at 1 Adelaide Street. The nationwide effort is sponsored by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
This national initiative provides an opportunity for the public to dispose of expired, or unwanted pharmaceutical drugs and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction.

"Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands," police said. "That's dangerous and often tragic. That's why it was great to see thousands of folks from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in - safely and anonymously - a record amount of prescription drugs."
