Driver Arrested In Wilmington Hit-And-Run Crash That Injured Woman
A woman from Billerica is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Woburn District Court after police say she left a woman seriously injured.

WILMINGTON, MA — A woman from Billerica has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash in Wilmington Wednesday that left a woman out walking her dog seriously injured.
Karen Haught, 52, is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Woburn District Court on charges including leaving the scene of a crash involving personal injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lane violation, and operating with a revoked driver's license, Wilmington police said.
Earlier Wednesday, police said they were looking for a gray or silver Hyundai Elantra from the model years 2011 to 2016 that was missing a hubcap on the front passenger side.

Haught was arrested at her Billerica home after Willimington police said they received a tip from a tow truck driver who noticed the car in the driveway and contacted police.
"I am proud of the incredible work done by the members of my department with help by the community," said Wilmington Police Chief Joseph Desmond. "We know this arrest cannot take away the physical and emotional pain of the victim and her family, but we hope it can help by holding someone accountable for what never should have happened."

Police say a 64-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit near the intersection of Nichols and 5th Streets near Billerica and Tewksbury around 7:10 a.m.
According to Boston 25, the woman has serious injuries to her legs, as well as internal injuries, she is expected to undergo surgery Thursday.
The Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Billerica police are assisting Wilmington police with an investigation.
