Former Wilmington Fire Department Lieutenant Dies At 63
Gary Robichaud, who served the fire department for 30 years, "passed peacefully with loving family by his side."
WILMINGTON, MA — A 30-year veteran of the Wilmington Fire Department has died. Gary Robichaud, 63, passed away Thursday, according to his obituary.
Robichaud was living in Hickory, NC at the time of his death. Robichaud moved to be with his then girlfriend, now wife, Debbie in February of 2014, and the two were married in August of 2020.
The fire department wrote on its Facebook page: "The members of the Wilmington Fire Department regret to announce the passing of Lieutenant Gary Robichaud (Ret.). Lt. Robichaud retired from the Department in 2014 after 30 years of service. There will be services in the local area soon. We will update as we get more information. Please keep Lt. Robichaud and his family in your thoughts during this time."

The police department wrote on its Facebook page: "We want to send our deepest condolences to the the family of Lt. Gary Robichaud as well as to the entire Wilmington Fire Department. Lt. Robichaud was a friend to many of us on the blue side of the Public Safety Building and he will be missed. May he rest in peace."
Robichaud was originally from Chelsea.

He will "likely be remembered most for his storytelling, his passion for good food and his love for those around him," according to his obituary.
