Hoping to Beat the Storm, Game in Beverly Moved to Earlier Start Time
A windswept rainstorm is expected on Saturday afternoon in Beverly, so the start time for the postseason football game has been changed.

Saturday afternoon’s postseason football matchup between Beverly and Wilmington will start an hour earlier than originally scheduled in hopes of getting in started before a storm that is forecasted to move in on Saturday evening.
Beverly High School Athletic Director James Coffey said on Friday afternoon that the start time will be noon on Saturday, an hour earlier than the originally scheduled 1 p.m. start time at Hurd Stadium in Beverly.
Coffey said the move was made “to try and beat the weather.”

Saturday’s game is the start of the Division 3 Northeast postseason tournament, with No. 4 Beverly (3-4) with a 10.0 power ranking facing No. 5 Wilmington (3-4), also with a 10.0 power ranking.
The winner will face the winner of No. 1 Masconomet vs. No. 8 Revere on a date and time to be decided.
